Just a little background to Stuarts headstone and the inscriptions on it. Stuart was a member of Skye Mountain Rescue and had been since 2012, He was their treasurer at the time of his death. He also spent much time volunteering with SARDA (Search & Rescue Dogs Association (Scotland)) helping with their training and assessment sessions by acting as a "body" for the dogs to find. The inverted S&T at the top of the headstone are from the sash I wore at out medieval wedding and represents our undying love for one another. Stuart died on Ciste Dhubh near Claunie whilst out hiking with other members of SkyeMRT. I will be buried beside him one day.
