I think this is my grandfather's tombstone. My dad was Campbell Burden Stewart and the family lived in Gedintailor. He had two brothers and a sister - Kenny who emigrated to SA, and Davie (not sure what happened to him) and Isa who emigrated to Canada. Does this ring any bells with you?

Hello Tracy, no I never lived there. My dad was in the RAF and we travelled a great deal. I remember meeting Davy on a visit to Skye when I was a little girl. My mum and dad went to look after my grandmother in Skye and inherited the croft when she died. However, after my dad died my mum had to sell it because at that time the eldest child had to live there and that was impossible at the time. I have been back since and the croft land was bought by someone who knew the family but the house was sold as a holiday cottage. When did Davy die? Bunty

Hi, we are visiting Skye at the moment. We have just been to Campbell Burden Stewart’s grave. He was my husband (Garry McDonald Stewart)’s great grandad. My husband’s father was Campbell McDonald Stewart. My husband, now 58, used to come from Glasgow stay with Campbell Burden Stewart and Christina when he was a boy.
