James & Louisa (Henderson) Simpson & sons.

In memory of/JAMES SIMPSON/bank agent born 2nd November 1857/died 19th May 1945/also of his wife LOUISA HENDERSON/born 22nd July 1850/died 1st August 1945/also of their sons/JAMES ALEC. Lieut R.A.F./died of wounds 23rd October 1916/aged 32 years/JOHN WATT 2nd Lieut. The Border Rgt./accidentally killed on active service/8th December 1916/aged 28 years.

James Simpson was my grandfather and his two sons were my half uncles. They were half brothers to my late father Finlay Macrae and his brother, my late uncle Hamish Macrae.
