I knew Pete from camping at Glen Brittle back in the 60s and early 70s. So sad to hear that he has passed away. His wife, who's name escapes me, had a twin sister, Annie, who was married to my friend Ken Rogers. Sadly I lost contact with Ken and Annie, because they moved house and never gave me their new address. This was obviously an oversight, because Ken wrote to me from his new address to inform me of his second born, but didn't put his contact details on the letter. If anyone can give me information on how to get in touch with Ken and Annie, I would be most grateful, because I have Ken's guides to Tryfan and Harrison's Rocks and would like to return them to him. I think the Tryfan guide would be especially poignant to Annie, because she painted a picture from the photo by K R Davidson at the start of the guide. I have fond memories of being in Chamonix with them and their son Daniel Idwal.

I knew Pete or Pete Scouse as we called him back in the early sixties. I spent three months on Skye instructing for the now defunct Mountaineering Association. Fond memories of time spent with Pete and Ronald Macdonald, both, out at sea on Ronalds boat and high in the Cuillin. On one occasion I remember Pete being really poorly while staying at the hostel. He looked as if he was at deaths door. His mouth was so full of ulcers he couldn't eat or talk. A Canadian mate Dave DeGruchy and I got milk from Mrs Cambell at Cuillin Cottage, boiled it up and forced fed this gruel to him for two or three days. His recovery was miraculous, but for a while he had us worried. He went on to become a Skye legend. R.I.P Pete,
