Thomas Wilson, s. Harris, gss. Alexander & Maurice

In memory/of/THOMAS WILSON/solicitor/formerly Lochmaddy, North Uist/and latterly Uig, Skye/Sub-commissioner for Smallholdings/on the Board of Agriculture/for Scotland 1912-1923/died 21st September 1936/aged 81 years/and their son/HARRIS THOMAS WILSON/died 16th Sept. 1965, aged 61 years/and grandsons/ALEX. MACDONALD WILSON/died 25th Jan. 1973 aged 42 years/MAURICE WILSON/died 1st June 1993, aged 60 years.

A devoted worker for land settlement in the/Highlands and Islands and a friend of the people.

The name blocked out is my late husband Maurice Wilson, which I don't mind being shown. The gravestone is going to be restored soon. I live on Skye with his two children Sean Maurice and Kathleen Rhona. I am writing a book about the family, especially about Thomas as he was a hero forgotten over time. If anyone sees this page and has any information about the family, please get in touch.

Hello Rhona, I have a bit of information about Thomas Wilson's wife (Christina's) family as my great grandmother was her older sister. I assume Christina was the mother of Harris.
I live in Skye so would be happy to meet you in Portree and show you the information I have.
