In memory/of/PETER MACDONALD/Glenhinisdaler/who died 5 June 1906 aged 75/his children/CATHERINE who died in infancy/ANGUS/who died 2 Feb. 1887 aged 11/and his parents/JOHN MACDONALD/who died 11 March 1888 aged 94/CATHERINE LAMONT/who died 11 April 1889/aged 87/also of his daughter/MARY/who died 14 March 1910 aged 31/and his son/RONALD/major in Cameron Highlanders/solicitor and bank agent Portree/who died in hospital at Marseilles/France on 17 June 1916/of wounds received in action/at Festubert/on 17 May 1915/aged 49/and PETER'S wife/FLORA MATHESON of Stenscholl died 1928 aged 91/their sons JOHN died 1948 aged 80 : NORMAN died 1953 aged 83/and son-in-law/PETER MARTIN of Marishadder and Cuidreach died 1936 aged 71.

It shoulld be ". His son/Ronald/ major in Cameron Highlanders". Not Donald. This is my family's gravestone. Ronald Macdonald was my great uncle. Thanks for the lovely picture.

Peter Martin was the son of John Martin of Maligar and Catherine MacKinnon

Any chance John and Catherine had a son Donald Lamont Macdonald born between 1828 and 1833 who married Mary Ann McQueen in 1852 and had a son Angus? They later emigrated to Ontario.
