Archibald & Isabella (Ross) Gillies.
In/loving memory of/ARCHIBALD GILLIES/Earlish/who died 20th June 1901/aged 84 years/and of his wife/ISABELLA ROSS/who died 30trh May 1891/aged 66 years.
The lives of both/were noted for Chrustian /faith and love/and abounded in god works.

Edit made, Robert. The Old Parish Records for most of the Highlands do not start till well into 19thC so it is very difficult to track back beyond what you have already discovered. We all have that frustration.
However, worthwhile contacting the Clan Donald Centre in Sleat as they may have information from the MacDonald estate archives which could help. You never know...

This is the grave of my x3 grandparents in Uig old graveyard. Isabella Ross from Earlish married Archie Gillies of Totescore in 1847 and had family - Flora, Catherine, Christine, John, Murdo, Mary and Roderick.

I seem to have come to a dead end and can not follow their lines previous to what I have mentioned in Isle of Skye. No Parents for either one, no Brothers and sisters for either one
