In/loving memory/of my dear husband/ALEXANDER BROWN/Earlish/who died on 6th June 1978/aged 73 years/also his dear wife/JEAN MACLEOD/who died on 11th July 1989/aged 79 years..

My sister, Mum, Dad and myself used to travel to Skye and spend our holidays each year camping with Alex and Jean at Earlish, this continued for many years until about 1970 and I remember the friendship grew. My Dad was left in charge of the campsite when Alex and Jean needed to be away for example, Alexs brother in laws funeral. So many happy childhood memories with Jean teaching me to milk Daisy the cow to Alex digging a trench around tent to stop us getting flooded and showing us the beached whale in the cove, and of course them inviting us for an evening drink. I had never seen my parents drink before and when Alex asked Dad to close the gate to the site all I could hear my Dad shouting he couldn't find the gate. Happy Memories. My parents used to telephone them every New years Eve and the last time was when the new owner had taken over after Jean had passed away. My Mum passed away in the 80's so we never returned and my Dad passed away last year. I have so many memories and have told my husband of these perfect times, and would love to come back one more time. Strange that the photo above was added on my Birthday (May 27th) Thank you,
