The 1881 Scotland Census lists Finlay Kemp and his family, living at 11 Stormy Hill, Portree, Inverness-shire, Scotland, as: Donald Kemp, 28 (b. c. 1853), Master Tailor;
Catherine Kemp, 29 (b. c. 1852), Tailor's Wife; Isabella Kemp, 5 (b. c. 1876), Scholar; Finlay Kemp, 3 (b. c. 1878); Catharine Williamina Kemp, 7 Months (b. c. 1880), all born in the Parish of Portree.
